CONSULTATION

We care about building genuine long-lasting relationships with stakeholders and the host communities in which we work. We endeavour to look out for each other, our communities and the environment.

The Lacour Energy team has been in the community for a while, presenting at the Darkan Wind Energy forums in mid 2023 and late 2024.  As the project progresses, more frequent and detailed engagement on the specific project will take place to ensure community awareness and involvement.

Engagement is proposed to be undertaken in a manner consistent with industry best practice. A key part of engaging with the community is to work together to solve challenges with delivering the project, such as housing, and to ensure potential local and regional employment and economic opportunities associated with construction and operations are realised. We aim to engage with local businesses as the project progresses, and we anticipate ongoing consultation through project development, construction and operation phases.

West Arthur Community Information Sessions

It was great to meet with the Darkan community during our recent information sessions in June and November 2025 and May 2026. We appreciated the warm welcome from the West Arthur CRC team and the valuable conversations shared at the sessions.

If you missed the sessions or have further questions, please contact us.

Darkan Sheepfest 2026

The Lacour Team were back in Darkan on 14 March 2026 for the much-loved Darkan Sheepfest.  Congratulations to the Sheepfest Committee and local community for hosting such a fantastic day out. The day was filled with great conversation and the chance to connect with the local community.

Our “Pin the Blade on the Turbine” game proved to be a hit with visitors of all ages, sparking plenty of laughs and friendly competition. Throughout the day, more than 60 people dropped by our stall, giving us the opportunity to meet new faces, reconnect with familiar ones, and share information about our project.

Thank you to everyone to stopped by to say hello. We are proud to be part of events like the Sheepfest and look forward to continuing the conversation in West Arthur.
